If Morse code was never created the world of communication would be very different. Morse code was widely during WW1, WW2, The Civil War, and even when the Titanic sunk. As you can see it has been used in the some of the most crucial and important times in our world's history. It may not be as widely used now but it is still very important to our world's history and always will be. While texting, email, and phone calls are very important but none of them would exist without Morse code, further proving its importance. Morse code is the foundation of modern communication, if we didn't have Morse code we wouldn't have emails, texting, FaceTime™, and even phone calls. All of these great things wouldn't be possible without the creation of Morse code and the telegraph, both of which were created by Samuel Morse. To communication Morse code is like what the Macintosh is to Apple, the thing that started it all. Morse code is basically an older version of texting, only it uses dots and dashes instead of letters. They are very similar in many ways because they both help exchange ideas, only one uses a very unique code and the other uses letters. Morse code has been used in many important ways. In the years of 1861-1865 Morse code was used to transmit messages to soldiers around the battlefield in the Civil war. One of the ways was that Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S Grant could talk to each other while Grant was on the battlefield. During the years of 1914-1918 morse code was also used in World War I. The final major war Morse code was used in is World War II, Morse code was used to help stop the Germans and end World War II. Another way Morse code helped includes soldiers sending transmissions across the ocean to other allies. In conclusion Morse code started a revolution of improvements in technological communication. It was created by Samuel Morse and helped in many wars and other important moments in history. Morse code helped connect different cultures together. The end of morse code came in 1995 when the coast guard stopped monitoring it but it still used by many people. It had a large impact on our world and will always be very important. |
